I have long been at the forefront of combining electronic music with handmade sound, always looking for the specific advantages these respective forms bring to the creative artist. 

All my productions, almost without exception, combine these two worlds. Under my direction, solo artists, bands and even orchestras have been able to interact with electronically controlled music, creating something fresh and original. There is hardly a single variant I haven’t yet tried.  

My approach reflects my musical heritage: I am a child of the 80s as much as the 90s, of punk as much as technology. I have always wanted to dance while also remaining close to the more explosive energies of social innovation and change. While not all of these experiments have worked out, there have been many more times when I have created musical pearls or participated in their creation.

After a variety of pseudonymous musical excursions and band formations, in 2018 I finally took the step to work as a solo artist under my given name, NHOAH. I still anticipate with pleasure each new creative challenge, whether it is my bringing my own music to the table, or collaborating on a commissioned work and putting my skills at your disposal.

Sadly I cannot throw myself into every collaboration that comes my way, or pretend that I am the right man for every type of job. My specific skills and tastes have developed my abilities in a direction which I am keen to continue working on, and I hope this will be to the benefit and delight of all who wish to work with such a committed specialist.

Among the broad and diverse electronic music community there are very few true mavericks who uphold the core belief that music is the result of something bigger than us, something divine. NHOAH is one of these rare artists. NHOAH operates in his own domain, with unflinching dedication to maintaining the purity and conscious impact of music - evident in his output and ethos. With a decorated career dating back to the eighties, including work with producer Larry Steinbacheck (Bronski Beat), mixing engineer Gareth Jones (Depeche Mode) or Brian Pugsley (Sugarcubes and The Shamen), he has depth of experience complemented by an outlier approach. Combined with his unwavering passion, daring attitude and natural gift for connecting with the dance floor, these attributes position NHOAH as an exceptional artist. A seasoned musical alchemist, whose 2018 album West-Berlin demonstrated his prowess as a solo producer, NHOAH continues to evolve and develop his unique sound, while keeping his heart, mind and soul fully engaged with the club environment - a place where he is most at home, where union and communion facilitate the ongoing progression of human consciousness.

NHOAH has been fascinated with dance music since he was a naive 10-year-old. A few decades on and that same enchantment continues present in his outlook. Driven to create and release music that is honest and true, NHOAH was playing drums in bands in his hometown Berlin back in 1980. By the mid-eighties he was in the studio with prominent figures such as Larry Steinbacheck/Bronski Beat, Brian Pugsley, Gareth Jones and Rio Reiser. Based at two of Berlin’s best-known studios, Hansa Tonstudio and Tritonus Studio, he established himself as an exceptional songwriter and mixer, laying the foundations of his successful career. Throughout the eighties and nineties his dedication to electronic music continued, culminating in the conception of record label and artist management company R.O.T respectortolerate in 1998.

In 2017, he underwent a transformation, launching himself as a solo artist, inspired by developments in audio technology. The result was his 2018 LP West-Berlin, which picked up positive reviews across the media. West-Berlin album showcased his ability to compose music that resonates with the dance floor - the home of electronic dance music. NHOAH’s natural curiosity and passion for human movement, individually and collectively, lies at the core of his inspiration and motivation. Always seeking to cultivate a unified atmosphere, and a symbiotic relationship with the dance floor faithful, his DJ sets and live performances draw from the same source of inspiration as his productions. NHOAH’s reputation as a solo artist was cemented by his album, landing a cover feature with mixmag Brazil in 2021, as well as

numerous interviews with publications such as Music Is 4 Lovers, Electronic Groove and Deep House London.

NHOAH visionary capabilities imbue his music with all that’s needed to ignite the club, and his desire to connect with the listener in the most expressive manner. A true aficionado of the live environment, he thrives on human connection, the electrifying atmosphere of people dancing side by side, releasing their stress and cultivating an energy like no other. This also manifests itself on NHOAH’s second album ’TUNE’ where he continues to explore and express his sincere love for electronic music. He harnesses the power of vibration to yield impressive results. Take ‘Rave 22’ for example, a track that captures the raw energy and emotion of techno in its infancy, with a contemporary aesthetic.

A critical understanding of electronic music heritage, combined with his continued experiences in clubs around the world, means NHOAH is able to construct tracks that are informed by his lineage, while also offering a glimpse into the future. Although he's already got a few years under his belt, the new album will feature music that can and will determine future nuances in club music in 2022. A bold statement perhaps, but indicative of his prophetic approach, ‘flashbacks to the future’ as he calls it. The delicate balance in his music creates moments of exhilaration, harmony and pure, undiluted dance floor energy. ‘Don’t Get High’ encapsulates this potent energy, with a rock-esque riff, a hypnotic vocal clip and inspired percussion. A rave-tinged breakdown is the icing on the cake with this exceptional cut.

NHOAH’s music epitomises the hedonistic, liberating feeling present at the birth of dance music culture. It is the soundtrack to freedom, expression of self, unity, community and sonic revolution.
